Kitchen Remodel 101: How to Remodel a Small Kitchen

Are you dreaming of a kitchen remodel for your space-starved kitchen? Are you wondering if or how it’s even possible? Even though they are tight on space, tiny kitchen remodels are possible. You just have to get creative!

At Progressive Builders, we have ample experience with kitchen remodels both large and small. We know it takes some creativity to work with a small space. Here are a few helpful tips to achieve the kitchen of your dreams regardless of size.

Work the Walls: If we can’t build out, then we build up. If a client needs more counter or storage space, we get creative with the walls surrounding the kitchen. For example, adding floor-to-ceiling cabinets makes for much more storage space.

Keep it Light: Interior design basics tell us that light and bright colors make a small space look larger. This is especially true for white because it reflects so much light.

Don’t Cut Corners: One of the most underutilized parts of a kitchen are its corners. When space is limited, homeowners cannot afford to lose more of their precious space. Installing features like a corner sink or Lazy Susan in the cabinets makes very good use of that space.

Scale the Appliances: Adding large, bulky appliances to a small kitchen makes it appear even smaller. Buying a mid-size refrigerator or a range that’s a bit smaller than the status quo will make better use of the space.

Don’t let the size of your kitchen deter you from thinking about a remodel. At Progressive Builders, we know how to do kitchen remodels right. We have years of experience with kitchens of all shapes and sizes. We love a challenge and we’re not afraid to take one on. Contact us today to get started with your small kitchen remodel.
